Wandsworth Council’s Brighter Living Fair takes place throughout October, and aims to encourage older people to stay active and try new activities with a series of free events.
As part of this month-long celebration of ageing well, I’m pleased to have received a micro grant to lead two walks and poetry workshops. Starting at Cromwell House Community Hub, we’ll go for a walk locally at an easy pace for about an hour. Back at the Hub I’ll lead people through writing a poem based on what we’ve seen on the walk.
As well as the physical activity of walking, and the benefits of engaging in a creative activity, the events will also offer a chance for people to socialise and hopefully make some new connections.
Across Wandsworth, there’s a whole range of different activities and community events throughout October as part of the Brighter Living Fair, and they’re all free. You can find the full programme here.

I love your Tracey Emin poem in the latest Dream Catcher, Hilaire. A true gem. Cx
Thank you Claire – so lovely to hear that!
